Dr. Mihir Bapat
He is a leading expert in the field of spine surgery and has over 20 years of professional experience. He specialises in Minimally Invasive Spine (MIS) surgery as well as complex spine surgery. Dr Bapat’s skill, experience and passion in treating his patients with minimally invasive spine surgery has often garnered positive reviews from the patients, alleviating their pains and a faster recovery post-surgery.
Dr Bapat has successfully performed thousands of spine surgical procedures since 2000. His gamut of experience includes treating a wide array of spinal pathologies from cervical to lumbar slip disc, lumbar canal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal deformities- scoliosis/kyphosis, spinal tumours, spinal infections and spinal fractures.
Apart from the surgical excellence, Dr Bapat also excels on the academic front. He is frequently invited to various national and international scientific forums to share his knowledge. Dr. Bapat is a heavily-published author, editor and presenter of articles, studies and poster/abstract presentations in prestigious academic journals, conferences and textbook chapters.
Dr. Mihir Bapat completed his orthopaedic and spine surgical training at the King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He received the Best Resident Award (1999) during his training period.
Currently, Dr Bapat is practising as the Director of the minimally invasive spine surgery department at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, as a mentor at spine surgery unit in Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research centre, senior consultant at Hinduja Healthcare Surgical and Prof. Emeritus at Dr R.N Cooper Hospital Mumbai, India.
